The Britannia Dance Championships 2026 will take place from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th March 2026 at the Hilton at the Utilita Bowl, Southampton, UK.
The competition is divided into four sessions:
Session 1 – Friday: ProAm Caribbean Mix, Argentine Tango (Salon & Freestyle), American Rhythm. Professional Ballroom, Latin & Smooth Championships.
Session 2 – Saturday Day: ProAm Single Dances and Multi-Dance events in Ballroom, Latin, and Smooth.
Session 3 – Saturday Evening: ProAm Championships, Showdance, Gala Dinner & Cabaret.
Session 4 – Sunday: Juvenile and Junior Teacher/Student events, Solo events, Open Couples competitions, Graded events.
ProAm dancers and their partners do not need to purchase admission for sessions they’re competing in — it’s included.
Open couples and Teacher/Student competitors must purchase an admission ticket for each session they’re entering.
Admission must be paid for at the time of entry via Flymark.
Friday & Sunday:
General Admission: £25
Competitor Admission: £25
Family Ticket A (1 adult + 1 U18): £25
Family Ticket B (2 adults + up to 2 U18s): £50
Under 100cm: Free (must sit on lap)
Saturday Day:
General Admission: £25
Saturday Evening:
Gala Dinner Ticket (individual): £85
Gala Dinner Table of 10: £800
Premium VIP Gala Table (of 10): £1000 (includes wine + front-row priority seating)
Standing/Non-Dinner Admission: £25 (entry from 7.15pm only, unreserved space)
Note: All admission for competing children must be purchased via Flymark.
Single Dance – £35 (£50 late)
2-Dance Challenge – £65 (£80 late)
3-Dance Challenge – £85 (£100 late)
4-Dance Challenge – £115 (£130 late)
ProAm Championship (includes World Cup) – £140 (£160 late)
ProAm Showdance – £110 (£120 late)
Age Groups:
A – 16–30
B – 31–50
C – 51–60
D – 61–70
E – 71+
F – 80+
Notes:
Age is determined as of the competition date.
Dancers turning an age that places them in a new group during 2026 may choose to dance in their current or next category.
Dancers may choose to dance one age group below their actual category.
Proof of age may be requested.
Dance Levels:
Level 1 – Restricted: Syllabus up to Gold
Level 2 – Intermediate: No syllabus restrictions; transitional level
Level 3 – Unrestricted: Open choreography, no limitations
Competitors may enter a maximum of two consecutive levels.
Teacher Student/Couples:
U8 – Born on or after 30/03/2018
U10 – Born on or after 30/03/2016
U12 – Born on or after 30/03/2014
U14 – Born on or after 30/03/2012
U16 – Born on or after 30/03/2010
Additional Info:
U8 may also dance in U10 or U12.
U10 may also dance in U12.
U14 may also dance in U16.
Juvenile events follow restricted syllabus and dress (per BDSA rules).
Junior events are open syllabus and dress (except graded events).
Proof of age may be requested.
VIP packages include exclusive access and benefits across the weekend. Details vary but may include:

All entries must be paid in full before confirmation.
Payment options: Flymark (preferred), bank transfer, sterling cash, or UK cheque.
Confirmations will be sent by email — check for errors immediately.
No changes can be made on the day of competition, except at the discretion of the organisers
Our panel includes qualified, experienced adjudicators.
The Chair of Adjudicators will resolve any disputes, ties, or rules queries.
Judges’ decisions are final.
Harassment or interference with adjudicators will result in disqualification or removal.
Yes — the Britannia Dance Championships will be professionally filmed and photographed. All footage remains the exclusive property of Dizzyfeet Dancing Ltd and may be used for promotional or archival purposes (including highlight reels, livestreams, and social media).
Spectators may photograph or film their own children or students for personal use. However, please be respectful of others — do not record or publish media featuring other dancers without their explicit consent.
What if I don't want to appear in official media? If you (or your child) do not wish to be photographed or filmed by our official media team, you may submit a Media Opt-Out Request before the event.
There are two ways to do this:
When entering via Flymark You can tick the media opt-out checkbox when registering. This alerts the organisers, but you’ll still need to complete the official form for full exclusion.
Submit the Media Opt-Out Form manually Visit our Privacy page via the button below and and submit the form no later than Wednesday 19th March 2026.
You’ll be asked to provide:
Dancer’s name and age category
Back number (once known)
Events entered
Outfit and hairstyle (for visual identification)
This form can be updated on the day if any appearance details change. Our crew will take all reasonable steps to exclude opt-out dancers from close-up footage or spotlight photography. However, we cannot guarantee complete exclusion from wide-angle or group shots.
All attendees must have a valid ticket for each session.
Competitors must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled heat.
Heats will not be delayed — no refunds for missed heats.
Participants compete at their own risk.
A trained First Aider will be present.
Use of oils/tanning sprays on floors is strictly prohibited.
Refunds are only available if the entire event is cancelled.
No refunds for illness, travel issues, missed events, or scheduling conflicts.
We strongly recommend all attendees purchase travel insurance.
