Safeguarding & Photography
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of all attendees — especially children and vulnerable adults — is our top priority.
To strengthen this commitment, we have introduced a Media Opt-Out Option for the 2026 Britannia Dance Championships, giving dancers and parents full control over how their image is used in official media.
All staff, photographers, and videographers are briefed on our safeguarding policy and identifiable data protocols.
Photography, Filming & Media Opt-Out
The Britannia Dance Championships will be professionally filmed and photographed by our accredited media team.
This content may be used for:
-
Social media and official event highlights
-
Promotional materials and future advertising
-
Event archives and news coverage
All media is the property of Dizzyfeet Dancing Ltd.
Spectators are welcome to film or photograph their own children or students for personal use, but we ask that no unauthorised filming of other dancers takes place without consent.
Opting Out of Official Media
We understand that some individuals may prefer not to appear in official photos or videos.
You can submit a Media Opt-Out Form on our website before the event.
This form helps us:
-
Identify opt-out competitors by name and competition number
-
Inform our media crew in advance
-
Reduce inclusion in close-up or promotional footage
While every reasonable effort will be made to respect opt-out requests, full exclusion from wide-angle or crowd footage cannot be guaranteed.
If appearance details (e.g. outfit or hairstyle) change on the day, the form can be updated in person at the registration desk.
Opt-out requests should ideally be submitted no later than one week before the event.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
-
Access the personal data we hold about you
-
Request corrections or deletion of inaccurate data
-
Withdraw consent for communication at any time
